FAQ / What To Expect Here
- General Information
We are Kansas City’s most trusted youth basketball organization, established in 2002. We provide highly organized, well-run tournaments and year-round leagues for competitive and recreational teams.
- Grades: 2nd Grade through 12th Grade.
- Genders: Divisions are separate for boys’ and girls’ teams.
- Skill Levels: All levels are welcome, ranging from grassroots recreational teams to elite competitive club teams.
Games are held at premier facilities across the Kansas City Metro Area. Primary venues include Shawnee Mission School District (SMSD) schools, facilities in Overland Park, and other top-tier area gyms.
- Tournaments
We have upgraded to a new registration platform. Click any Register Now button on our website to be securely redirected to our Fastbreak Compete portal to complete your registration and payment.
The hard deadline is typically the Monday prior to the tournament weekend. Register early, as high-demand divisions frequently fill up before the deadline.
Most standard weekend tournaments guarantee a 3-game minimum, though formats vary between pool play and bracket elimination depending on the specific event.
Schedules are finalized and posted on our website and the Fastbreak app by Wednesday evening before the tournament weekend.
- Leagues
We offer year-round league sessions (e.g., Fall, Winter 1, Winter 2, Spring, Summer). Each standard session spans approximately 5 to 6 weeks.
Every team is guaranteed a total of 7 games per league session.
Yes, we accommodate limited, reasonable scheduling requests to help multi-sport athletes and busy coaches. You can request:
- Specific bye weeks.
- Doubleheaders (playing back-to-back games).
- Time preferences (early vs. late game times).
Note: All requests must be submitted through the registration portal prior to the league’s registration deadline.
Coaches & Rosters
We primarily accept registrations for complete teams. However, if you are a player looking for a team, please visit our Looking For A Team page to fill out a free agent form, which we share with club coaches looking to add players.
Teams must be ready to play at their scheduled time. A 10-minute grace period is provided for the first game of the day. A forfeit results in an automatic loss and may impact a team’s eligibility for future bracket play.
- Spectators & Parents, Admission & Gate Fees
We maintain a strict family-friendly environment focused on player development and sportsmanship. Verbal abuse toward officials, players, coaches, or staff will result in immediate ejection from the facility without a refund.
Player and family safety is our top priority. In the event of dangerous road conditions or facility closures, updates will be posted immediately to our website homepage, via our weather line, and through notifications sent via the Fastbreak portal.
